Father's friend

Father's friend

George and Peter Ellis
why is she called Peter

George and Dad
on holiday together
in their little sports car

occasionally we’d visit
them on the Malone Road
my odd feeling of entering
other people’s houses

I like Caroline
a year older than me
helps box hankies
and we laugh

George died
on the beach in Italy

that was the end of that
