Turn on tune in drop out

just beside the bank
where Dad drops off
the cheques each day
to prevent the overdraft
bankrupting the factory

just beside the bank
Solly Lipschitz’s shop
second hand records
American European
trumpet saxaphone
bass and drums

America mirrors itself
its emptiness its accent
its endless entertainment
it’s what there is to learn
