Fruit and vegetables

time makes it summer again
endlessly weeks of weekend

giving back the garden
for aimlessly playing in

casual inspection
of strawberry plants
soil covered straw mats
rows that move each year
rotating with the potatoes

never occurs to me why
never recruited into
the adult world
