Television
first television lives
bottom of the trolley
plug and aerial
curled at the back
wheeled into the
centre of the room
when we want to
see something
sometimes just children’s
programmes like Andy Pandy
and the Flowerpot Men
other times we all sit down
to watch drama or the News
finally got
new colour one
bigger with legs of its own
squats in everyday corner
we watch it all the time
