Tie-dye
summer saturday
coming in the kitchen door
and the old grey cast iron pot
is on a swirling boil
Dylon tin punctured open
the shiny metal green
of bright dye yellow water
nylon white shirt
twisted rolled knotted
into the pot we go
with old grey wooden
laundry tongs from the
days of the mangle
I like the green and yellow
better than the red and blue
look carefully
schoolboy collar never change
out now on the hangar
hippy tie dye festival
short lived summer
took so long
but gone
