Red bucket
red bucket beneath the sink
full of potato peelings apple cores
banana skins carrot tops
courgettes ends
onion skins
go put the rubbish on the compost heap
run like greased lightning
duck dodging the branch
watch that slippery patch
where the sewage tank
overflow seeps
down the paving stone
path between pea rows
Jerusalem artichokes and
the glass frames to protect
the lettuces from the frost
warm smell grass cutting mound
beside pile up branches and sticks
up end the bucket
bang out the sticky bits
high tail it back to the house
wave empty bucket in
rattling swinging arcs
